The AAU North American Tier 1 Showcases being held in Chicago, Toronto, and Detroit have been set up to showcase the AAU youngest and brightest talents as they embark on their hockey careers. The goal is to provide the best competition possible to help develop the skills of these future stars. The series is restricted to 6 teams in each division to ensure quality, of play.

The Idea of the AAU North American Showcase AAA Hockey Series is to
- run tournaments with 4 game guarantee
- provide player and team recognition
- provide the athletes a diverse and varied, experience to expand the base knowledge and understanding of their sport through varied opponents
- create high standards and a strong commitment to the development of the athlete providing a level of competition that recognizes the many great features of playing the game
- create an environment for hockey that is stimulating, innovative, enjoyable and that encourages sportsmanship.
- foster in each athlete a healthy self-concept and a sense of personal value through recognition and encouragement of individual potential and talent;
- build a stronger conection to the international game and provide a scale to measure the developement of like minded programs
- have as many of the top players participate as possible.
